Star Zone Salutes

Apr 09, 2016

Star Zone made it two wins in as many weeks as the Gentle stable starts to warm up again.

Star Zone a horse transfered from a Sydney stable to Brian a number of months ago was able to break his maiden over an unsuitable distance at he's fourth start in a race. Star Zone had been a bit unlucky in a couple of his first three starts but finally made amends on Saturday.

Brian thought after Star Zones last start second at Bendigo, Star Zone needed a freshen up, so Brian sent him out to the farm to have two weeks of doing nothing but enjoying some R and R to freshen he's legs and mind up. That trick worked a treat as Star Zone won a trial at Tatura just five days before winning at Bendigo.

Brian's other winner in the last two weeks Rushmore was also a winner at the home track of Bendigo. Rushmore was able to step up from 1500m to 2200m and get the job done. Rushmore since joining Brian's stable has been a model of consistancy. After arriving from the Chris Waller stable as an un raced horse and some average trial form in Sydney, Rushmore has been a nice addition to the stable and looks to have more wins in him as a stayer in the years to come.
