Gentle Gets A Double

Jul 13, 2014

On a day when leaving for the race meeting at Mudgee seen the temperature at -4.9, the day warmed up to a lovely 14 degrees and seen Brian train a winning double.

The first one to greet the judge was Southern Albatross, a 3 y-old filly having just her second start. After a terriffic effort at her first start in a race at Bathurst two weeks prior she backed it up with a barnstorming run from the tail of the the field to pick them up and win " that was a mighty effort from the filly today she was some 3 lengths behind the second last horse at one stage and to get home like that to win bodes well for the future for he" Gentle said.

A few races later seen the in form Destiny Rising make it three wins in a row. Beaten for a bit of speed early and being held up behind the leaders jockey Jay Ford had to weave some magic to find some clear running and Destiny Rising done the rest " That was his best win so far I thought he was held up and his sprint taken away from him and he was still able to attack the line strongly I'm so proud of this horse the way he is going" Gentle said.

Training the two winners had Brian fall short of taking out the Mudgee trainers premiership this year, he was able to run second in the premiership behind Paul Messara.
