Back From Retirement
Dec 14, 2012
Bonny mare Kirra Lyn made a return to the winners stall at Bathurst on Saturday. Originally purchased as a tried horse by Brian for $1000 she has repaid that with interest this preperation.
" I retired her after her first two starts for me, as she has quite an attitude at the races, but after giving her a long spell I made the decision to give her one more chance and that has reaped the rewards now with her winning $11,900 in prizemoney in just four starts this time in" Gentle said.
After having some six starts for her previous trainers over 1200m and never running a place Gentle thought her would giver the opportunity to have another go at the distance as he felt she was showing signs of looking for 1100-1200m now she is a bit older and that paid dividends, Kirra Lyn jumped well to travel in second position befor taking the lead at the top of the staright and she was able to hold off all challengers to win by a neck in class record time.
