Abidon Back To Back Wins

Oct 05, 2012

On Friday 5th October seen Abidon heading to Nowra after winning his maiden at Mudgee 3 weeks earlier. Abidon began well to take up a forward postion with Jay Ford in the saddle. He came out 3 wide around the turn and quickly put pay to his rivals with a very good sprint, Abidon put the race to bed in a couple of strides to win easing down going to the line to win by 3/4 length. Gentle said     " Abidon is a lovely colt who is now starting to show on the racetrack what he has shown us at home, he looks a horse with above average ability. He also said "that even though it was 3 1/2 weeks in between runs and stepping up from 1400m to the 1600m it was always the plan as his next start was a race at Gosford on 21st October over 1600m which has a $50,000 bonus to Abidon" should Abidon be able to win at his next start and make it three wins on end, it will show the ability of trainer Brian Gentle's ability to set a horse for a race from a number of months beforehand and win, this is no easy task to have a horse peak on the right day. It takes a lot of planning to have a horse peak on a certain day.
