BIG EFFORT

Mar 24, 2012

On Saturday 24th March Brian had King Of Atlantis and Ozberry Miss racing at Goulburn. King Of Atlantis was having his first run back from a short break and a disappointing first race start were he chocked down after getting his tongue over the bit. After being a little slow to begin King Of Atlantis was back running last coming to the turn some 10 lengths from the leader, with a beautiful ride from jockey Robyn Freeman-Key she rode for luck coming through the field but she was held up a couple of times in the straight having to change course but King Of Atlantis still hit the line very strong for third placing beaten a half length. Brian said after the race " We have always thought that King Of Atlantis had some ability and it was great to see him show some of the potential he has shown at home, I think he will be better suited even over a bit further 1600m" Gentle said.

Ozberry Miss was having her first start in a race after trialing well at Goulburn a month before her first run. After having no luck from her barrier (12) she was caught three and four deep for her first start over 1300m and Ozberry Miss was still finding the line after having a very hard run. "I was really pleased to see Ozberry Miss still hitting the line after being caught wide all the way, she is bred to run a mile or further and I think she will be a better horse next time in as she is still a bit immature." Gentle said.
