Heading Back Home

Dec 28, 2011

This Saturday will see Brian Gentle return to his birthplace at Orange as a trainer. Brian's father Bruce was a jockey in Orange and travelled with the family to the Western Districts race meetings for many years.

Brian will saddle up three runners. Hawky was previously trained on the Gold Coast by Gentle prior to his year holiday from training, the owners decided when Gentle returned to training in August this year, to stick with Gentle and Hawky was sent to Sydney to be trained once again by Brian at Cobbitty. Hawky will race over 1400 meters first up but his form is better when he gets to 1800 meters and further, Hawky will be ridden by leading country jockey Mathew Cahill. Kirra Lyn will be having her first start for the stable, she is also having her first start after being prepared in Queensland and the stable is looking to a forward showing from Kirra Lyn who will be ridden by another leading country jockey in Justin W Stanley. The pick of the bunch is King Of Atlantis who is having his first race start, he has trialed well leading into his first start and a good showing from him is expected, he will also be ridden by Justin W Stanley.

Hopefully these runners will add to a New Years Eve celebration for their connections.

Brian and his staff wish all the owners and associates that assisted in 2011 a Happy New Year. We look forward to a prosperous 2012 with good racing and a whole lot of enjoyment for all.
