Brian was a freshed face 15 year old straight out of school when he decided to persue his passion for horses by taking up a junior position in the Paul Sutherland Racing Stables where he remained for 4 years.
His desire to train has always been in the back of Brians mind. His Father was the leading jockey in the Western Districts area of NSW and after retiring from the saddle he proved to be successful in training, Brian was born into the industry and his fathers influence meant he was destined to work in the game.
Over the years Brian has worked for some of the biggest names in racing like Brian Mayfield-Smith, Mick Price, the late Bill Evans and Clarry Conners before taking up the position of foreman for Gerald Ryan at the Gold Coast.
This was the perfect grooming that Brian needed before moving onto the Gai Waterhouse Racing Operation and ultimatlely landing the position of foreman for John O'Shea. This job was the one that most prepared Brian for his future, exposing him to owners and other trainers at the metropolitan meetings that he would regularly attend. "Having the right connections when starting out is imperative in this highly competitive industry."
Over the last couple of years Brian has won numerous races from Murwillumbah to Doomben and trained Moama when 3rd in the Listed Mode Stakes at Doomben.
